HyperOS is the official Android skin on Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones. Having switched from MIUI in the last few months, the Chinese company keeps working to optimize and improve the OS’s stability. They are currently rolling out a point upgrade, but that has not stopped the development of HyperOS 2.2.
Xiaomi HyperOS 2.2 update plan
The idea of HyperOS is to achieve seamless networking among all Xiaomi products. Thanks to the HyperConnect that debuted with HyperOS 2, the company has achieved so much in the front. It is now also possible to transfer files with an iOS device.
Animation is something Xiaomi has tried to improve with the last few updates. In HyperOS 2.1, there were improvements in closing and opening app animation. Further improvements have been made in HyperOS 2.2, showing it is an area the company is working to refine more.
The plan with HyperOS 2.2 is to bring optimization, improve stability, introduce new features, and resolve bugs. Unfortunately, the build is currently in beta testing, with only Chinese users having access to it. It will take a few weeks before it arrives on a stable channel, probably when the global rollout will commence.
HyperOS 2.2 update global release

Although the update introduces some improvements and new features, Xiaomi does not consider it a major release. As a result, the company has not announced a rollout plan. Moreover, since it is likely restricted to premium devices, listing eligible models would be unnecessary. This is merely a minor upgrade that brings select features from the latest flagship phones to older models.
That said, there is no official timeframe for the HyperOS 2.2 update global release. However, we expect the rollout to commence once the beta preview is complete. Currently, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are testing the build, which is based on Android 15.

Xiaomi HyperOS 2.2 update: phones to receive it
Unfortunately, there is no official list of devices that will receive the update. Nonetheless, we understand that most premium phones will get the upgrade. Perhaps Xiaomi is bringing some Xiaomi 15 series features to older phones.
So far, only Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro have an OS2.2 build in the beta channel. We do not know when the stable build will become available, but we hope it will be in two weeks. Hopefully, that will open the gate for more devices to receive the update.
