Xiaomi might be rolling out the HyperOS 2.2 update, but they have not finalized the initial release. A few devices are still waiting for the upgrade, which was the case with the POCO F5 unit until now. The device has started getting the much-anticipated upgrade, which brings a new Android OS.

The POCO F5 Android 15 update is rolling out in Europe for select users. They are known as Mi Pilot members, and their job is to preview new builds before they are released to the public. Depending on their feedback, the update might be halted, and a new one developed.
There have been a few cases since HyperOS 2 started rolling out. An update is stopped due to a bug, and a new build starts seeding to resolve the problem and ultimately arrives, as a first release for some people. The update is rolling out with version number OS2.0.1.0. VMREUXM and weighs 5.6GB. It brings the Alive Design Philosophy, Xiaomi HyperCore, and HyperConnect. As expected, the Xiaomi HyperAI is missing, and we do not expect it to arrive with future updates.
Meanwhile, performance has improved, while a few bugs are resolved. Also, security has been enhanced and coupled with the March 2025 security patch, which comes with the update, a few security vulnerabilities were patched.
To download the update, you should go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Check for Updates. You should have a new update waiting to be downloaded if you are part of the Mi Pilot program. Otherwise, wait for a public release, which will start in the coming days.
When is Global POCO F5 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 rolling out?
There is no official release date, but we expect the rollout to start within two weeks. Unless there is a serious bug in the latest build, other regions will start getting the upgrade in the coming days. Nevertheless, you can check the updater app to see if the update has arrived for your device.
Meanwhile, it might be the last major upgrade for the device that launched in June 2023. So far, Xiaomi has released two OS upgrades, and with the latest release, they might not release another Android upgrade. The device will continue getting security patch updates till June 2026.
