Samsung had to speed up the stable One UI 7 rollout probably so they could focus on One UI 8. The Korean company is expected to release the next iteration on time compared to the current version. They have been testing the build internally, but the public beta preview might open up soon.
Google will release stable Android 16 to Pixel users next month, in time for Samsung to start a beta preview. There have been rumors of the upcoming Android OS debuting with the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, and that seems to be legit, with the recent reports. Before that, Samsung plans to open the beta preview for older models, probably with the Galaxy S25 series.
Samsung One UI 8 beta program to open in June

Samsung always organizes a beta preview before the release of a major upgrade. It will not be different with the One UI 8, as a recent report suggests a beta program is likely to start next month. There’s no official confirmation for this report, and we do not expect any until release time.
With Samsung planning on releasing the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 in July pre-installed with Android 16 based on One UI 8, it’s possible they will start the beta preview before the debut of the Foldables. According to Tarun Vats, Samsung is likely to start the beta preview in June. The program will take a few months, and hopefully, we will see some of the new additions.
Nonetheless, One UI 8 will bring Android 16 to eligible users, and according to recent reports, the update will not introduce many user-facing changes. Samsung will probably focus on improving performance and resolving any issues.
Samsung phones eligible for One UI 8 beta program
Samsung has yet to announce eligible phones, but we have a list. We expect the Galaxy S25 series to start the beta preview, followed by the current Foldables phones. More devices will join the beta program towards the stable release time. Meanwhile, you can check for eligible phones for the stable Android 16-based One UI 8 here.
We hope there won’t be delays with the One UI 8 rollout after the struggles of One UI 7. There have been reports of a possible One UI 8.5 release, meaning the upcoming update will arrive on time.
