Samsung One UI 7 is based on Android 15. Google released stable Android 15 to Pixel phones in October 2024. While other smartphone makers have rolled out the stable build to their eligible units, Samsung has yet to start a stable release. However, the Korean company has released the official One UI 7 release plan, detailing the phones, countries, and dates it will start rolling out the much-anticipated upgrade.
Android 15-based One UI 7

Samsung has always been the first few smartphone makers to release a new Android OS, but things haven’t gone as planned with the latest OS. The Korean company, we understand, is making some user-facing changes. Time is needed to test these features and ensure they work properly before rolling them out to users. For months, they have tested the build, and it’s almost time for it to start rolling out.
One UI 7 will revamp the user interface, including notifications, quick panels, and app drawer. The Now Bar, which will display live activities, and Now Brief are some of the most-anticipated features. As expected, animation has improved, and the new blur engine makes everything look cool. Of course, there are other changes, and we hope to learn about them when the update starts rolling out.
Samsung One UI 7 release plan: Phones
Samsung has many phones in its portfolio, and many of them are eligible for the Android 15-based One UI 7 update. However, the rollout will start with a handful of them. Since the Galaxy S24 started testing the build last December, devices in the lineup will be the first to receive the update.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive One UI 7 at the same time, although they started beta testing a few days ago.
There are few devices yet to start the beta program that will also receive the upgrade, but they might wait until May 2025. They include.
- Galaxy S23
- Galaxy S23+
- Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Galaxy S24 FE
- Galaxy Z Flip 5
- Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Tab S9
- Galaxy Tab S9+
- Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
- Galaxy Tab S10+
- Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra
Samsung One UI 7 release plan: Date and Countries
- According to Samsung, One UI 7 will start rolling out on April 7, 2025. The rollout will commence in Europe, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, New Zealand, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and UAE.
- On April 10, 2025, Samsung will release a stable One UI 7 update in the USA and Canada for eligible users starting with Galaxy S24 owners.
- April 14, 2025, the update will go live in Malaysia and Singapore.
While you would expect the rollout to start simultaneously on the said dates, that will not be the case. Major updates are released in batches, to limit any damage in case developers missed any bugs. Hence only select users will get the update before it gradually expands to others.
We expect those participating in the beta program to receive the update first. Remember the rollout will start with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
