It has only been a few days since Google released a new beta build to beta testers. The build is now making its way to everyone as Android Auto 14.2 stable. As usual, the rollout is via the Play Store, but you can download the Android Auto 14.2 stable APK file from the link below and install it manually.
A handful of updates have been released for Android Auto in the past few weeks. While each release mainly focuses on bug fixes and optimization, the last two builds have introduced gaming support while highlighting new features coming to Android Auto. Unfortunately, there is no changelog with the latest update, but Google has some interesting things coming up.
New additions coming with Android Auto 14.2 stable update

Because the update did not have a changelog, it is hard to say what changes it brings. Nevertheless, it has resolved issues and optimized performance while hinting at upcoming Android Auto features.
Google mentioned smart glass navigation in the code. The company is working on smart glasses support for the navigation system. It will be easy for drivers to keep up with the route without looking at their car screen by relying on the guidance of a smart glass.
We do not know when the feature will become available, but we have seen some arrive without any announcement. Hence, we expect the release in the coming weeks unless it’ll be tied to Android 16, which will roll out in June. If that’s the case then the support for smart glasses will arrive that time.
We have also seen a line of code in the past builds suggesting temperature controls. The plan is to allow drivers access to the air conditioning system without leaving the Android Auto interface. We have seen many car brands move controls to the screen. Once the integration is completed, it will be easy to control the car’s temperature without leaving Android Auto.
Again, these features are still in development, and we do not know when they will become available for users if at all they will make it. Yes, not all features that get tested make it to users, some are abandoned, but we hope it won’t be the case.
